In late June 2021, sixteen Republican secretaries of state, the elected officials responsible for overseeing their state’s elections, flew to Washington, D.C. Despite the risks and inconvenience of traveling during the pandemic, they had important business to do. They were in town to huddle in private sessions with lobbyists and activists from some of the […]
Charlie Kirk, the 27 year old head of Turning Point USA (aka “TPUSA”) and Turning Point Action has spent years fanning the flames of division, first on university campuses and more recently in high schools. He had a role with the Trump campaign advising on “youth outreach,” and was chair of “Students for Trump.” Despite the risks […]
In recent weeks, Democrats in the House have passed some genuinely positive and progressive policies. These include H.R. 1 (the For the People Act) and H.R. 5 (the Equality Act). These bills would fix many of the problems in our broken election system, and extend long overdue legal protections to LGBTQ people. Both of these […]
H.R. 1 passed out of the House last night. It now heads to the Senate with a hearing scheduled in the Senate Rules Committee on March 24th. The Democratic majority in the House ensured that it sailed through mostly along party lines, but it wont be so simple in the Senate. The right wing opposition to the bill has been going into overdrive over the past two weeks. Donald Trump and Mike Pence have both blasted the bill and everything points to the Senate hearing being pretty contentious.

The study, released in December of 2020 by a Wyoming state agency, makes no mention of funding from the oil and […]
Two weeks ago, the March to Save America rally in D.C. turned into a violent mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol and left five people dead. The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), along with its sister organization the Rule of Law Defense Fund (RLDF), which actively promoted the event, have been losing corporate donors ever since. Today we add a host of new and significant corporations to that list.
Last week, Documented revealed that the Rule of Law Defense Fund (RLDF) sponsored the March to Save America rally, the event that preceded the violent riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. The day ended with five people dead, including Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick. In the aftermath, Documented obtained and published a robocall from the group promoting the rally. The RLDF name was also splashed over the event website, until the violence escalated and the site was taken offline.
This report has been updated on January 11, 2021 to include a new statement issued to reporters by RAGA and new information about RAGA appearing on MarchtoSaveAmerica.com. The Rule of Law Defense Fund (RLDF), a 501(c)(4) arm of the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), helped organize the protest preceding the deadly attack on the U.S. […]
