Senior Democracy Researcher
Experience: 5-10 years relevant experience
Term: Full-time employee
Documented is seeking a senior researcher to support our expanding investigations into threats to our democracy. The job necessitates someone who is adaptable to a fast-changing environment, and doggedly interested in protecting and strengthening our democracy. Documented is an investigative watchdog and journalism project committed to holding the powerful interests that undermine our democracy accountable. Started in 2017, Documented has conducted groundbreaking and award-winning investigations into politicians, industry trade associations, political networks, and their front groups. We are a small and dedicated team, and our work has influenced congressional hearings and has shaped national media coverage. In the past 18 months, Documented has had a significant national impact exposing the groups behind the events of January 6th, the dark-money opposition to HR1, and the networks behind coordinated voter suppression efforts.
