Check My Vote "Election Patriot" Role Explainer
Published on March 2, 2024In this video Check My Vote co-founder, Tim Vetter, explains the "Election Patriot" role.
The video emphasizes that anyone from anywhere can manually flag "registrations that [they] know are bad" on the CMV site using the Audit My Address feature. Michigan requires anyone submitting a voter challenge to be a resident of the relevant jurisdiction, and CMV relies on so-called "Election Patriots" who live in the relevant jurisdiction to review the flagged registrations, and submit them to the local elections clerk in the form of voter challenges.
