Genoa Township Michigan Voter Challenge Records (Oct. 2023)
Published on March 2, 2024Excerpts of public records obtained by Documented that show roughly 120 voter registration challenges submitted in Michigan's Genoa Township by Michigan Fair Elections (MFE) activists, following a door-to-door canvass. The submissions track MFE/Check My Vote training materials.
The activists—led by Janine Iyer, an MFE leader and county GOP official—submitted a cover letter summarizing the voter challenges, and 48 affidavits in support of those 120 challenges. Documented is including redacted versions of two of those affidavits as examples, but is not including the full set of affidavits, which include personal information.
Together with the voter registration challenges, MFE activists also submitted a second letter—citing CheckMyVote.org—flagging registrations missing an apartment or lot number, or which appear to be duplicates.
