Heritage Foundation 2023 Secretaries of State Conference Invitation and Event Agenda
Published on February 17, 2023The conservative Heritage Foundation held a two-day conference for Secretaries of State on "current election law issues" in partnership with the Leonard Leo-backed Honest Elections Project and the conservative Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF).
"This is the sixth year The Heritage Foundation has hosted these important meetings with state Secretaries of State on current election law issues," the event's "Save the Date" stated. "Heritage is thrilled to be partnering again with the Honest Elections Project, and for the first time with the Public Interest Legal Foundation, to co-host this spring's meeting, and invite you to attend an extended two-two conference at our headquarters in Washington, D.C."
According to the event agenda, panels covered "updates from the hill," "realistic ERIC fixes and reforms," "mapping the opposition," and "election integrity updates from the states." The event also included a dinner and luncheon with a "keynote address."
Heritage Action has spent tens of millions of dollars since 2021 pushing anti-voting policies. Alongside this effort, Heritage has been briefing politicians on these issues. In a 2021 leaked video that was previously reported by Documented in partnership with Mother Jones, Heritage Foundation's 501(c)(4) political arm Heritage Action boasted to donors about private briefings to conservative secretaries of state for "several years."
