Leonard Leo backed Honest Elections Project to Host Leadership Session at ALEC Summer Meeting

Published on June 29, 2022

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is hosting the Honest Elections Project (a Leonard Leo backed group) for its inaugural leadership dinner, taking place during the ALEC meeting in Atlanta, Georgia on July 27, 2022. The event, which is "invitation only," is the latest example of ALEC working with groups that are undermining democracy.

In June 2020, Documented first revealed the creation of ALEC's "Process Working Group," through which the legally non-partisan group is working on election issues. In December 2021, Documented published a leaked 3 hour recording from one of that working group's meetings.
