West Virginia Treasurer Riley Moore Sees State Treasurers “In a Unique Position To Exact Real Pressure”
Published on August 5, 2022On May 12, 2021 West Virginia Treasurer Riley Moore emailed Louisiana Treasurer John Schroder "regarding the Biden Administration's efforts to no longer finance fossil fuel industries (coal, oil &, gas) here in the U.S." Moore wrote "he believes as state treasurers we are in a unique position to exact real pressure" and encouraged Schroder to sign on to a letter to U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry pushing back on the administration's actions.
Moore spearheaded the letter, which was released on May 25, 2021. 15 state treasurers signed on to the letter.
