We wanted to tell you about Fieldnotes, an exciting new organization launched by some of our former Documented colleagues.
Fieldnotes is a new watchdog group that investigates the oil and gas industry at a time when corporate interests and polluters are preparing an unprecedented attack on climate policy and U.S. regulatory agencies.
If you appreciate Documented’s investigations and reporting into the way money, influence and power undermine everything from public policy to our democracy itself, we think you’ll love Fieldnotes.
Fieldnotes’ investigations will reveal corporations, lobbyists, and dark money groups' efforts to delay or block climate action, public health safeguards, and environmental protections.
In fact, they’ve already started: Their team recently revealed an oil and gas industry game plan to dismantle the Biden administration’s climate policies and boost production under a second Trump administration: https://fieldnotes.co/reporting/axpc-oil-gas-industry-trump-2025
Just last week, they also just exposed an internal plastics and petrochemical industry plan to convince consumers that recycling PET plastic works using paid TikTok influencers, questionable math, and celebrities like Dennis Quaid: https://fieldnotes.co/investigations/napcor-positively-pet-plastic-misinformation
